High School in 1962
Education: Graduated
from East Tennessee State in Johnson City, TN
(1966) with a B.A. in Education. M.A. in Guidance
from Stetson University, Deland, FL (1971).
Family:
Married B. Craig Johnson (aka "Dusty Miller")
on December 28, 1982 in the only full formal wedding
that had ever been held in the lakeside community
of Ten Mile, Tennessee where her mother and father
were living. Although she never gave birth to
a child of her own, Gloria raised Dusty's daughter
by a previous marriage as her own from the age
of seven. To this young lady she is "Mom"
and her daughter Cheyenne is Gloria's grandbaby.
Work History:
After 30 years in the Volusia County (Florida)
School System Gloria retired June 28, 1996 as
a secondary school Assistant Principal
Dance Experience:
Began country line dancing in 1983 at the Rockin'
Ranch in Ormond Beach, Florida when Dusty took
over as the club's DJ.
Teaching Experience:
Began teaching on a part-time basis in
1984 at Finky's COuntry Showplace in Daytona Beach,
Florida. First regularly scheduled dance class
was through Daytona Beach Community College and
lasted six years. Began teaching regularly in
a club setting in 1992 and went "full-time"
in 1994. Now "semi-retired" Gloria teaches
one night per week at JRs Country Club in Deland,
Florida and at special events and workshops. Gloria
and Dusty are available for a limited number of
dance events and workshops in the southeastern
United States and are the hosts for a major line
dance cruise every year. To find out Gloria's

Gloria has also taught
in the workshop and dance event setting in events
in the southeastern United States and until 2005
was a featured instructor at the SunCoast Jamboree
in Daytona Beach in August.
Choreography Experience:
Gloria's first dance was the Daytona Slide for
Hank Williams Jr. "Daytona Nights" in
January of 1995. Since then has choreographed
a total of over 100 dances, a number of them at
the express request of either the recording artist
or the record label. She is one of only a few
choreographers who have ever been paid by a major
record label (MCG/Curb Records) to write a dance
and produce the dance instruction video (Thump
for the Smokin' Armadillos "Thump Factor").
